Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR

Tiger Woods has had a massive fall from grace, then a fall from form, then EA let him go and shelved their PGA game, until they managed to find a boring ass white boy to take Wood’s place. But hey, this is golf, so the cover shot counts for little, it’s all about the swing right?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fairly decent golf game, but having to sit through videos of Rory McIlroy is boring at best. It has everything you’d expect, from several different control methods to several different play options, but that’s about all. This re-boot of EA’s golf franchise feels more like a stop gap while they work on a full title, rather than the kick arse game it should be.

Mixing in a few fantasy courses is nice, though I’m not sure if the game benefits from having a Battlefield map serve as one of the locations, but I guess that’s what you get when you use the Frostbite engine to render your game! And talking of Frostbite, Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR is a good looking game, that plays well and will keep golfing fans of all abilities happy. It just has a few weird moments and kinda leaves you wanting if your scratch the surface too much.
