Gears of War 4

As with Microsoft’s other exclusive Halo, Gears of War has also had to make a transition onto a new developer and I’m happy to say it’s been a smooth one. Gears of War 4 is set 25 years after the events on Gears of War 3 and focuses on JD Fenix, the son of series mainstay, Marcus Fenix. The single player campaign starts out a little funking having you fight robots, but your companions are a hoot and immersion is quick and the game enjoyable. SO much so that I’d recommend playing through before getting lost in the online action.

And even though the campaign will bring you so much fun, the place where we’re all going to end up putting countless hours of our lives into is the online muliplayer. Gears of War has perfected the art of the third person cover shooter and The Coalition have delivered a rip roaring action fest with the latest installment. If you’re a long time fan, you’ll just going to jump in and have a blast.

New comers might find the third person view a little disconcerting at first, but you’ll soon feel at home. With plenty of variety in the maps and game modes Gears of War is a solid contender for that precious commodity; time. Get sucked into the online action and I promise you you will find it difficult to fit anything else into your evenings or weekends 😉
