Zombies Confirmed For Black Ops

There are two perennial enemies that will always have employment in videogames: Nazis, and zombies. And while Call of Duty: Black Ops may finally be leaving the Nazis behind, Activision has at last stopped beating around the bush and confirmed that a zombie mode will indeed return in the game.

In the announcement, Activision acknowledged it was the one of the “worst kept secrets” of Black Ops, referring to various leaks regarding the mode to have popped up since the game was first announced. Treyarch head Mark Lamia, though, enigmatically promised that the Zombies mode in Black Ops will offer “brand new zombie experiences” and “a nice surprise for fans,” so there may be more to it than the same zombie-blasting action seen in Call of Duty: World at War.

In addition to the Zombie mode, Activision also revealed another new co-op mode for Black Ops called Combat Training. Specific details on this mode were light, but it’ll be playable by up to six players, where gamers will be “battling against enemy AI.” So…basically a standard horde mode but without the zombies, by the sound of it. -1up
