Boys, blokes and nerds of all ages will find something to spin their wheels at the 2010 Armageddon Expo, ASB Showgrounds, Labour Weekend (23rd – 25th October), 2010.

With Cyber Game Tournaments, National Skateboarding Championships, Paintball, Comic Guest Panels, IPW wrestling stars, eating contests, Trading Card Tournaments and even a 10-foot tall Armageddon Burning Man, Armageddon will be the last word in entertainment for the entire weekend with the largest offering of its kind in Australasia.

Movie and TV buffs will get to meet stars like Kristanna Loken from Terminator 3, Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Abyss, Grindhouse), John DiMaggio (the voice of Bender from Futurama), Bill Farmer (voice of Goofy/Pluto), Kane Hodder from Friday the 13th 7-10, and many others at scheduled sessions over the three days. TV legends include David Faustino from Married with Children, Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred from Doctor Who, Michael Shanks and Corin Nemec from Stargate SG1, Miracle Laurie from Dollhouse, Claudia Christian from Babylon 5 and Nana Vistor from Star Trek DS9.

Gaming enthusiasts had better prep themselves for the Armageddon LANON3 National Championship Series where teams will battle it out in their chosen game, while comic fans will be thrilled to see international writers and artists including Daniel Way, Darick Robertson and Georges Jeanty. Visitors will even be able to purchase sketches personally drawn by some of these world-renowned illustrators.

In addition to the long list of comics, gaming and movie star panels, there’ll be almost limitless live entertainment, with wrestling, eating contests, cosplay contests, Playstation, Xbox and Wii gaming areas and much more.

After its inaugural appearance last year the Fantasy Ball returns from 7pm to 10.30pm on Sunday 24th October. Attendees must come in either costume or mask with the $5 entry fee going to the Haemophilia Foundation of New Zealand. After the evening’s entertainment of bands and performers, the night will culminate in a spectacular pyrotechnic event – the burning of our giant Wicker Man.

Armageddon event organizer Bill Geradts is very happy with the outlook of the Expo, “With the bigger venue (ASB Showgrounds) and incredible timetable in 2009 we had over 40,000 visitors come to the show – and with this year’s amazing line-up it’s going to be huge.â€
