Sony Announces the “PS Vita”

This is good news for Sony as it overcomes its recent issues with the PSN hacks and mixed reviews on its Android gaming offering. The device is no light weight either sporting a 4 Core Arm Cortex Chip, Multi Touch OLED screen, Rear touch pad as well as a camera than can film up to 120 FPS. Clearly Sony’s model of big processors is not remaining within the console side of the franchise.

The device also will include a number of launch titles that offer portable versions of popular mainstream PS3 games, and the additional list of developers promises a steady supply of content for the new platform. But this is not all. Like many other gaming and console companies Social is becoming a significant must have in all devices. The Vita is no exception with built in features suck as “party”, which allows voice and text chatting during games  and the promise of much more social interaction possibilities.

Launch details are limited at this stage, however a global release date is set for the end of 2011.

Sony Announces the “PS Vita”

Sony have released more details on their NGP project (Next Generation Portable)… Playstation Vita. The device was announced loosely a while ago, but until now didn’t really have any major details attached to it. The indications are that Wifi Models will sell around 249 Euros with a 3G Model available for around 299 euro. Wether those prices will be fixed for the New Zealand market is anyones guess, however the Vita (or in Latin Life) promises to bring a very solid entry into the Sony Gaming offering.
