Pacific Rim Uprising
I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t want to go and watch Pacific Rim Uprising, it was only because my daughter begged me to take her and promised she would write the review. And guess who has been left to write the review….
So lets face some honest facts. 2013’s Pacific Ring was an ok action film based on two solid points, it was directed (and written) by Guillermo del Toro, and it wasn’t owned by Hasbro.
Jump forward to 2018 and we have a sequel nobody asked for. Seriously, who left a screening of Pacific Ring and thought to themselves, I hope they fast track a sequel because I’m amped for some more robot on monster action? Right, nobody.
But you know what? Uprising ticks all the boxes that the trailers promised it would. Spectacular if some what silly robot on monster action, a ridiculously stupid plot, and plenty of John Boyega.
So if you’re a closet robot/monster fan, or just love a couple of hours of CGI monster mash, then Uprising really will tick all the boxes and deliver a solid night’s entertainment.
