If you played the original Dead Space, you may remember the free promotional comics on XBox Live. Dead Space 2: Ignition is basically one of those, except it’s mildly interactive and it will set you back 400MSP.

Ignition describes the mayhem that occurs on the Sprawl just before the Dead Space 2 game will start. The Sprawl being the large space station/colony that Dead Space 2 is set on. The comic introduces two characters who give you a short tour of various parts of the station while bad stuff happens. The artwork used in the comic is mediocre and poorly animated. More than anything it reminds me of the sort of sketched felt-tip ‘storyboard’ panels you sometimes see in the deleted scenes on DVDs. The characters are barely animated in the comic and when they are it’s very crude – for example bobbing them up and down to indicate walking.
