Red Dead Redemption is still one of the best games released this year, and as with most games these days, it’s had it’s fair share of DLC, most of which I’ve not bothered with, mainly because whilst I loved the game, the online component really didn’t do it for me. At heart I’m a FPS player, and if I’m going up against human opponents that’s how I roll.
With Undead Nightmare things were a little different. For one, it was more focussed on giving players another chapter in the Red Dead world, one where we could once again saddle up as John Marston and attempt to bring good back into the world, a world now plagued by the undead. And for two, it had zombies in it. Mention the word zombies and I’m there.

I never really got into the original Fable and didn’t bother with part two. But with a story-line that sees you at the beginning of the industrial revolution, attempting to overthrow the ruling King and take his place, now that sounded like a bit of me.
For one, there would be guns – the absence of guns has kept me away from the RPG genre for the most part, Fallout 3 being the first game I ever really enjoyed in the genre – and secondly the setting was at a time of change, with the industrial revolution promising that this could be a little different.
Ironically, even though I had a gun, my main source of offense was to be magic, the one thing that really put me off Fable in the first place.
The game is pretty much the same as the first Fable in that to progress along the story-line you have to go on quests, fight people, animals and mysterious beings. At the same time however, you get to explore this massive open world environment, meet people, earn money, spend money, invest in real estate and hold hands.

If you played the original Dead Space, you may remember the free promotional comics on XBox Live. Dead Space 2: Ignition is basically one of those, except it’s mildly interactive and it will set you back 400MSP.
Ignition describes the mayhem that occurs on the Sprawl just before the Dead Space 2 game will start. The Sprawl being the large space station/colony that Dead Space 2 is set on. The comic introduces two characters who give you a short tour of various parts of the station while bad stuff happens. The artwork used in the comic is mediocre and poorly animated. More than anything it reminds me of the sort of sketched felt-tip ‘storyboard’ panels you sometimes see in the deleted scenes on DVDs. The characters are barely animated in the comic and when they are it’s very crude – for example bobbing them up and down to indicate walking.

NBA 2K11 is apparently the best NBA game there is. I’m not sure just how many NBA games there are but I’m assuming the list is pretty small. So it’s claim to fame for being the best, might not mean much, and to a non sports fan like myself, it’s going to have to work hard to impress me.

Medal of Honor, has there been a more prolific FPS franchise? Since 1999 its had 11 different console editions along with 4 PC only editions and 5 portable device editions… Do I dare mention the Gamepro marketing Action figures of Colin Powell, Dick Cheney and George W. Bush?
So you would imagine an FPS with such a history would be bringing its ‘A’ game to the table. We got our resident FPS junkies Famousfive and Urbankiwi onto the case. Like Osama Bin laden we lost them for a week, but now they have emerged from their virtual Afghanistan Caves to bring their thoughts.

If Jerry Bruckheimer were to make a racing game, it would be Split/Second. Whilst most racing games focus on the realities of racing, there are a few out there that focus on destruction. Burnout and Motorstorm may have had you forcing your competitor off the road and into a solid,

When I was lucky enough to sit down with the guys from Rockstar earlier in the year and play an early build of the game, one thing that they told me was seared into my mind; there are no loads in Red Dead Redemption. You’ll never have to wait for

I wouldn’t have known what UFC was if it wasn’t for an American friend who introduced me to it via his iTunes TV collection. He wanted to show me this particulate knockout where the guy knocks his opponent out cold. So cold the due has to be carried off with
