Call of Duty Likely to Cause Relationship Problems
Video games are becoming a stronger factor in relationship difficulties, according to a OnePoll.com survey reported by the Daily Mail. The opt-in survey counted 1,500 gamers and their partners. Of the participants who were gamers, 10% said they had skipped a date or rejected sex in favor of playing a game, and 5% said games had lost them a relationship. 70% said their partner has become regularly annoyed at the amount of time played.
Over half of women said they were “jealous” of the amount of time spent on games, and 40% of gamers play every night of the week. 20% of men said they spend ten or more hours per week playing. The survey ranked the games most commonly cited as stealing away precious relationship time:
- Call of Duty
- Football Manager
- Grand Theft Auto
- FIFA
- Medal of Honor
- Halo
- Super Mario Brothers
- Gran Turismo
- Mario Kart
- Guitar Hero
- Assassins Creed
- Pro Evo Soccer
- Resident Evil
- World of Warcraft
- F1
- Red Dead Redemption
- Need for Speed
- Fallout
- Gears of War
- Angry Birds
Not suprisingly Call of Duty is the number one relationship killer – but then it is also the most popular game so it figures it would come out on top, but the newly released Medal of Honor is a suprise at number 5 and you can tell it’s a British survey when Football Manager comes in at number 2.
So what game would you give up sex for?
