The first thing you think of when you think of the Modern Warfare games probably isn’t “character driven,” but it looks like Infinity Ward may want to put one of their personalities more in the spotlight for a future title. According to actor Craig Fairbrass, Infinity Ward is planning to create a spin-off game starring Sergeant Simon “Ghost” Riley from Modern Warfare 2.

“I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they’re talking about another little game to go with it,” Fairbrass mysteriously said during a UK launch event for Modern Warfare 2 (ThatVideogameBlog, via Joystiq). Whether he was authorized to reveal this and just what exactly he means by “little game” is unclear, so take this as a semi-rumor for now. After all, Fairbrass only said Infinity Ward was “talking about” it, so even if this is accurate, nothing’s actually been decided yet.

But as Fairbrass mentioned, this wouldn’t be the first time Infinity Ward singled out the character of Ghost: He’s already the subject of a six-part comic book mini-series that went on sale earlier this week. [1up]
